Getting A Sore Throat From Kissing? Does It Really Happen

Getting a sore throat from kissing does happen a lot and it is something you should try to avoid. The most important thing is if your partner or the person you are going to kiss is sick and has a sore throat then avoid kissing them. The symptoms of a sore throat should be obvious and usually the persons voice will sound different.

Kissing does transfer a lot of bacteria so this is definitely something you should try to avoid if you are worried about getting a sore throat. I have personally gotten a sore throat after kissing my girlfriend a few years back, regrettably I knew she was sick and I still did it. The next day I woke up with a dry sore throat which was extremely painful and lasted for a full week before I got better.

Kissing is normal in a relationship but the best advice I can give is to make sure the person you are going to kiss isn't sick with a sore throat at the time. Remember an infected throat or sore throat usually is full of bacteria, this can be easily transferred through an exchange of saliva which occurs through kissing.

So Remember:

- Don't kiss a sick person.
- Lip kissing is safer then tongue kissing.
- Tongue kissing transfers more saliva and bacteria.

A great website to read up more on the possible health problems associated with kissing can be seen here. http://www.can-you-get-sick-from-kissing.com/

Diet and Sore Throat. Do Veggies and Garlic and Onion help.

Since having a lot of sore throats and getting sick frequently with lung problems and the flu, none of which were too serious, the doctor in fact told me I need to start resting more and looking after myself as life was just too busy. I would also advised to change my diet around and I started eating a lot more vegetables.

Now after dinner even if I am just having lean meats or steaks I also make sure I have a salad that is full of vegetables. I have a lot of cucumbers, tomatoes, garlic and onions. In the morning I also have a fruit juice such as orange juice or apple juice. Since I have added this to my diet I have noticed that I am getting sick less often, so by adding extra vegetables to your diet it can help your health in general and hopefully it leads to less frequent sore throats as this has worked for me.

Another important bit of information is sleep patterns. I will go over this in more detail in a future post but when I was getting sick a lot I was sleeping 5-6 hours a night. Now I make sure I get around 8 hours sleep per night and I am getting sick less and less which are great. So the main message is eat healthy and get lots of sleep, this will help prevent getting sick such as having a sore throat and it will also help beat a sore throat if you currently have one.

How Long Does A Sore Throat Last?

A good question is how long should a sore throat last and while everyone is different myn have lasted between 2-7 days in the past. Beating a sore throat completely within 2 days was rare for me, however the more common ones lasted around 4 days. Bad sore throats which were also rare sometimes lasted up until one week.

This has a lot to do with rest and work as well. Sometimes even If i had a sore throat I would go to work, which is full time work and usually the sore throat would last from that monday to the weekend. The reason is because I am working and acting like normal, I am not dedicating extra time to resting which I should have been doing.

So when I was not resting and working the sore throats would last longer. However I remember one time during the Christmas holiday period I got a sore throat. It was painful but the timing was lucky because I had nothing planned at all for the next week so I had a lot of time to rest. And after a lot of sleep, eating and staying in warm clothes I managed to beat the sore throat completely within two days. And by the third day I had no trace or feeling of a sore throat at all. In fact I felt like i was at optimum health still.

Humidifiers and Steam Treatments for Sore Throat

Humidifiers and steam treatments are highly effective for small throats and are often used as a remedy. However from all the people I know this is mainly used by the elderly or middle aged people. As this takes a bit of time and a lot more effort than other treatment techniques. Usually the youth of today are consumed taking throat lozenges or quick ready made gargles.

Humidifiers and steam treatments are used for many different medical problems and they have a series of benefits. Steam brings out all the toxins and kills bacteria which are major causes of sore throats. Im a bit confused as to where to find a sore throat humidifier or steam machine so it might be best to search for these specifically online. You will need to get familiar with the equipment just to make sure you don’t set the machine to hot or to cold. You need to get the temperature just right so you can get back to feeling good again without a sore throat.

This is also a more powerful treatment so people will long and severe sore throats may try this. However as I always say with these posts do as much research as possible on this site and other sites, even go see a medical professional for advice. It is best to be safe than sorry so go get your health organised and I wish you the best for the future and hope this post and the information on this site has helped you.

So far I haven’t had a sore throat for around three months. However last year I had close to ten which was yes frustrating, however I know what works best for me and now I can confidently beat a sore throat within a few days which is a lot better than when I was younger and they would last for around a week.

The Best Mouth Gargle To Beat A Sore Throat

On this site we will be going through several remedies and the sore throat gargle has worked well for me in the past. The only down side of this is it can be extra painful at first, as you are gargling in a sensitive area which is your throat. The gargle should include a teaspoon of salt warm water. You will then need to gargle the water in your mouth for a while before spitting it out. Some people do this each hour and others break it up between hours. When I go to work i try do it before I leave, in my lunch break then after work and before I go to bed.

This does work well for me however the only down side I can find is this is a little more painful than all the other remedies. It usually works quick which is good as this means you don’t have to wait for long. What you actually gargle is up to you read up on it and find what works best for you. Some people use salt, others use what you can get at a chemist shop which is already mixed up and ready to gargle.

This is probably the easiest thing to do. However just research what others are using and try this for yourself. A sore throat gargle is one of the most effective remedies used by people who are suffering from a sore throat. So hopefully it works well for you and we get you feeling good as quickly as possible.

How To Beat A Sore Throat Quickly

This is one of the most common concerns for people who have a sore throat. You want to know how to beat this quickly because speaking from experience it is painful and highly annoying. It can stop you from working to your ability, or enjoying yourself at an upcoming social party. I will provide some advice on this site which will hopefully get you up and feeling well as soon as possible. I am not a medical professional but I have had several sore throats in my life so I will provide information on what has worked for me and what hasn’t.

Beating a sore throat in winter can be difficult and some of my sore throats have lasted for around a week. But after a while I found a few ways which I can beat a sore throat quicker and I usually beat them within a couple of days. Still those couple of days aren’t good at all because the pain and discomfort is immense, however I hope all these posts help you.

Some general advice without going into specific remedies like I will in the future posts is, try stay as healthy as possible. Have a lot of rest and make sure you eat well and exercise. Resting your body is essential to making sure your immune system stays strong and this will help you fight a sore throat or most importantly hopefully prevent you from getting a sore throat.

If your sore throat doesn’t go away or you are also noticing other symptoms it may be a wise idea to go see a medical professional as soon as possible. Even if its just a check-up and they give you the all clear it is best to be safe than sorry. So it is important to seek professional medical advice. I am essentially just providing my amateur view point.

We will go over remedies and what works for different people. It is important to remember that everyone is different and different things work for different people. So it might take you a while to find a remedy that works for you and I understand this process can be annoying and time consuming but hopefully with my advice you can get better and back to feeling the best you possibly can, as soon as possible.
